If you realize you picked the wrong currency for an account, act quickly: you can only change it while the account has zero transactions on it. Open the account, update the currency, and save — simple, as long as nothing's been recorded yet. Once even one transaction exists, that door closes for good, and the only way forward is deleting and starting over, or working around it with a correcting entry.
