The 3-day Pro trial starts at checkout and your first charge is scheduled for the day it ends. You can cancel any time before then in Settings → Subscription.

Basic is an evaluation tier, not a free forever workspace. It's capped at one currency and ten transactions, which is enough to judge the product and not enough to run your month on.

Downgrading never deletes anything. Everything you've recorded stays exactly where it is — you simply can't add more past the Basic limits.
