Current prices, the billing toggle, and checkout live on the pricing page. This note is the reasoning behind those two columns — why there is no per-currency upsell, what Basic is for, and what FOUNDER actually discounts.
The point: you pay for software that remembers the rate on the day. You do not pay a spread, because Rasa Money does not move the money.
Why there are only two plans
A lot of finance apps split the catalogue into Personal, Plus, Family, and a “just one more currency” upsell. Rasa Money does not. The product is one workspace with a capability matrix: either a limit is on, or it is not. Basic is the evaluation tier. Pro is the unrestricted one. There is no third column hiding CSV import or a second currency behind a different SKU.
That choice is deliberate. Multi-currency is not a feature we sprinkle on the expensive plan — it is the spine of the ledger. Charging extra per currency would punish the exact people the product is built for. If you hold three currencies, Pro is the plan that matches the software, not a penalty for living that way.
Prices on the pricing page are in US dollars. Checkout runs through our payment provider. We can change list prices with at least 30 days' notice; a change does not rewrite the period you already paid for. Monthly, quarterly, and annual sit side by side on that toggle.
What Basic is actually for
Basic is how you find out whether Rasa Money thinks about money the way you do. It is not a forever-free operating system for your household, and we would rather say that here than let you discover it in week two when the tenth transaction is refused.
The caps are tight on purpose: two accounts, one currency, ten transactions in total, three per day, two budgets, ten categories, one debt. Recurring templates, file import, data export, the cash-flow chart, dashboard insights, and Rasa AI stay on Pro. You can still create the workspace, pick a language, and load demo data that fills the screens with realistic accounts and a debt so you are not staring at empty widgets.
When you are ready to go live, you clear the demo in one action. Nothing you typed over it is supposed to vanish because you upgraded — the upgrade lifts the caps, it does not rebuild the file. If Basic feels small, that is the point of an evaluation tier, not a bug in the paywall.
What you are paying for on Pro
Pro is unlimited accounts, currencies, transactions, budgets, categories and debts, plus the tools that only make sense once the ledger is real: recurring series, CSV/XLSX import, a full export, cash-flow and insight widgets, and Rasa AI. You also choose your own base currency instead of living in single-currency mode.
The useful way to think about it is not “more rows in a spreadsheet”. It is whether the product can be the system of record for a month that includes a USD invoice, a EUR subscription, a loan in a third currency, and a budget whose limit is in the currency you actually plan in. That combination is why Pro exists. The feature list on the pricing cards is the same matrix the server enforces — we are not advertising a capability the API will quietly refuse.
Priority support for founding members is a people promise, not a separate SKU: import formats we have not seen yet, and currency edge cases, go to the same sales inbox. Paid Pro without the founding code still gets product support; the founding offer is the discount and the explicit invitation to write in while the roadmap is being shaped.
Monthly, quarterly, or annual
Pro is one plan sold on three cycles. Monthly is the least commitment. Quarterly is a middle ground. Annual is the cheapest per month and is charged as a single payment covering twelve months. The save chips on the toggle are the real discount against that cycle's list price, not a rotating coupon we swap every campaign.
You pick the cycle at checkout. Switching later is a billing-provider problem as much as a product one — if you need to change cycle, write to sales with the account email rather than assuming a silent proration happened. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you already paid; we do not refund unused days. That is also in the Terms, in plainer language than most SaaS contracts.
What FOUNDER actually does
The founding cohort is a soft-launch offer, not a lifetime price lock. Use the code FOUNDER at checkout for up to 40% off the first charge. It does not rewrite every renewal until the heat death of the company. If we ever offered a locked-in early-access rate to a specific group, that commitment is described in the Terms and is a different thing from this code.
Copy the code from the banner or the founding block, then apply it on the payment screen. The homepage founding section is a short version of this; the full perk list — roadmap input, the data promise, a direct line for nasty bank files — sits on the pricing page under the plan cards. If the code fails, email sales before you assume the offer ended.
Downgrades keep the file. Export is how you leave.
Downgrading never deletes accounts, transactions, budgets, categories or debts. You simply cannot add more past the Basic limits. That is the opposite of the hostage-taking some tools do when a card expires. Your history stays where you left it.
Leaving the product entirely is a different motion: Pro can produce a structured archive of those same records, after you confirm your password. Do that while the subscription is still active. The security page covers why that download is HTTPS-only and why the file does not sit on disk afterwards. Privacy requests that are not “I clicked export” go to privacy@, not to a pricing FAQ.
No spread, because we do not move the money
Rasa Money does not convert cash at a window. Mid-market rates are how the ledger talks to itself, not a hidden 3% we take when you “send” EUR to USD inside the app. Cross-currency transfers in the product are bookkeeping between your own accounts. Your bank still applies its own spread when you actually wire funds.
That is why the pricing page has no “FX fee” row. You are paying for software that remembers the rate on the day, not for a corridor. If you want the legal version of “we are not a bank”, it is on About, in the homepage FAQ, and in the Terms.
Can I export all my data?
Yes, on the Pro plan. Export produces a structured archive of your accounts, transactions, budgets, categories and debts, downloadable after you confirm your password. Data export is one of the Pro capabilities, so if you're planning to leave or to move your records elsewhere, do it while your subscription is active. Downgrading never deletes anything — your records remain in the product either way.
What happens when the 3-day Pro trial ends?
The trial starts at checkout through our payment provider, and your first charge is scheduled for the day it ends — the exact date is shown in Settings → Subscription while the trial runs. If you cancel before that date you're not charged. Trials are tracked per account, so resubscribing later won't grant a second one.
What can I actually do on the free plan?
Enough to judge the product, not enough to run your finances on — and we'd rather say that than let you find out in week two. Basic gives you 2 accounts in a single currency, 10 transactions total with 3 per day, 2 budgets, 10 categories and 1 debt. Recurring transactions, file import, data export, the cash flow chart and Rasa AI are Pro. If you want to explore properly first, load the demo data: it fills the product with realistic accounts, categories, budgets, transactions and a debt, and you can clear it in one action when you're ready to go live.
The live plans are on pricing. Start free — no card, no bank connection.
